Rechargeable back-up battery used to supply the EVD driver and therefore close the valve in the event of sudden power failures. A patented algorithm (resident in the EVD driver) controls the state of charge and operation of the battery.

This device controls the electronic expansion valve even in the more extreme conditions controlling the superheating and pressure, and managing diagnostics and alarms. It manages the most common EEV fitted with stepper available on the market. The algorithm is based on the measurements made by a fast NTC temperature sensor and a pressure sensor, located at the evaporator outlet, and on the information on the status of the compressors. If the electronic's control of the unit is a pCO system series controller, further data display functions and integration of the valve control algorithm with the control algorithm of the entire unit are possible via the pLAN network.

The serial converter translates the signals of the two cables serial line (Carel network RS485) to the RS232 standard in order to ensure the connection to the supervisory computer. A converter is required for each line being used. It is possible to connect up to 200 controllers to each converter. The converter is supplied in a kit containing the serial cable to be connected to the supervisory computer.

The PCO10000WB0 card is an optional accessory that is used to connect all pCO system series controllers (pCO², pCO¹, pCO^xs) with the most important protocols in the HVAC market operating with Ethernet™ and RS485. The new interface board will be an option that could be inserted in the proper serial port for pCO controllers supervision boards.

The PCO1004850 card is used to interface pCO¹ and pCO^xs to an RS485 network. The card guarantees the optical isolation of the controller from the RS485 serial network. The maximum baud rate is 19200 baud (the rate can be set via software).

The PCO100CEF0 card is an optional accessory for pCO¹ that is used to save the data logs and the event log. These functions must be managed by the controller's software application.

The PCO100TLN0 option is used to connect the pCO¹ to a tLAN network using two separate connectors. One connector is used to connect the pCO¹ to a tLAN network. Using this connection and a suitably-configured application in TLAN MASTER mode, the pCO¹ can interact with the pCO I/O expansion (tLAN version - PCOE00TLN0) or with other pCO controllers fitted with a tLAN connection, configured in tLAN SLAVE mode. The second connector, on the other hand, is used to connect a PST terminal: using this connection and a suitably-configured application, the pCO¹ can interact with a PST terminal.

Thanks to the DC/DC power supply module, the entire range of pCO controllers can be powered using the 48 Vdc storage batteries that are typical of telephone applications. The input voltage can range from 21 to 58 Vdc, while the output voltage is 24±1 Vdc/0.7 A or 30&plumn;1 Vdc/0.6 A. DIN rail mounting is made possible by the 4 DIN module plastic container.

The expansion boards PCOE000TLN0 and PCOE0004850 belong to the pCO system family and have been designed to increase the I/Oson the pCO^xs, pCO¹ and pCO¹ controllers. A maximum of 5 expansion boards for each pCO^xs, pCO¹ and pCO² controller can be connected.

These interfaces are used to control the main parameters of the Carel OEM humidifiers (water level and conductivity in the cylinder, TAM current power sensor) directly from the pCO system controllers. The values read by the special sensors are converted into signals that are compatible with the inputs on the control board. The boards are managed by the software application running in the pCO controller.
